Hunter Purchases the MP Rotator
A Great Product for Our Customers!
Bob Rupar, from the Walla Walla Sprinkler Co., manufacturer of the MP Rotator®, recently announced that they have reached an agreement with Hunter® Industries for the acquisition of the MP Rotator product line. This deal will be consummated in September of 2007.
AIS has sold, specified, and promoted the MP Rotator for several years. The MP Rotator is the first matched precipitation sprinkler across all arcs and radii. Through this transition, AIS has been assured that we will have access to the MP line.
This is a great product and we look forward to making it available for years to come to irrigation contractors throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky... if you have not had the opportunity to give this product a try, please stop in to see us. You will not be disappointed!
July is Smart Irrigation Month
A Worthy Endeavor!
The Irrigation Association® has named July Smart Irrigation Month to promote efficient watering practices, technologically advanced irrigation products, and water conservation. Smart Irrigation Month is an industry-wide opportunity to promote water-saving products, practices, and services.
Support an industry campaign to
promote water conservation through
advanced technology and practices!
With growing demands straining water resources everywhere, it’s important to promote water-saving products, adopt “best practices”, and educate customers about how to do more with less. Smart Irrigation Month is the perfect time for the industry to promote a history of innovation and drive public awareness of the value of irrigation.
Much of the change in technology in the past few years has been in support of water conservation including the MP Rotator, pressure compensation in rotors and sprayheads, increased emphasis on drip irrigation, and water conserving features on control systems.
The Irrigation Association has created two websites designed to further promote Smart Irrigation Month: an industry-related website at http://www.irrigation.org/SIM/default.aspx?pg=industry.htm&id=230 and a consumer-related website at www.smartirrigationmonth.org.
AIS views Smart Irrigation Month as an opportunity for our company, our contractors, and our industry... we hope you will join us in supporting this endeavor!

Remembering Ken Mills
The Loss of a Great Friend and Industry Supporter!
Ken Mills, immediate past President of the Irrigation Association® and Vice President of the Contractor Division at Rain Bird®, passed away on May 3rd. Many of our customers remember Ken from Rain Bird meetings and visits to Indianapolis.
"Both David Wheeler and I worked for Ken when we were Rain Bird employees," said AIS' Steve Christie. "I can honestly say that Ken was the best boss I have ever had and he was one of the most influential people in my business life. Ken had the inherent ability to be your boss, but also to be great personal friend. Our families vacationed together many times and I enjoyed the opportunity of playing golf with Ken many times throughout the years."
Ken is survived by his wife Medora, daughters Stacie and Leslie, and grandson Mills. Our industry and our company lost a great friend and supporter.
